The Mirror of Yata, also known as the Yata no Kagami, is one of the three sacred treasures of Japan, along with the sword Kusanagi and the jewel Yasakani no Magatama. It is a bronze mirror that has been kept in the Shinto shrine of Ise Grand Shrine in Mie Prefecture, Japan for centuries.
According to legend, the mirror was brought to Japan by the granddaughter of the sun goddess Amaterasu, who was sent down to earth to establish the imperial dynasty. The mirror is said to represent wisdom and is one of the symbols of imperial power in Japan.
The Mirror of Yata is not usually on display and is only viewed by a select few during ceremonies at the shrine. It has been replicated for public viewing and is considered a national treasure.
